Clinical Pilates is a form of therapeutic exercise used by physiotherapists to assist in the rehabilitation and prevention of musculoskeletal injury. Its main aim is to improve the core stabilising muscles, lying deep in your abdomen and spine. Specialised pilates equipment such as reformer beds and trapeze tables are used in conjunction with swiss-ball and matwork floor exercises to specifically activate these muscles, therefore allowing normal function of the body.
